The purpose of this web site is to provide photographs that can be freely downloaded to illustrate the Life of Christ within churches and Christian groups. They must not be used for any commercial purposes and must be clearly labelled Wintershall’s Life of Christ with the year of production and be credited to this web site.
The web site grew out of attending a performance of The Life of Christ at Wintershall in the summer of 2010. During the performance we took about 500 digital photographs and as we took them I thought that maybe the photographs would serve as a resource for those who wished illustrate publications - or any activity where a photograph of a "Bible Scene" would enhance their work and make the story more real.
You are invited to copy as many photographs as you wish and to use them in any way that helps you tell the Gospel story. All we ask is that your acknowledge The Life of Christ at Wintershall and this web site (www.wintershall-photographs.org.uk) in your work.
Most of the photographs have been cropped to show the main characters and action. They are all resized to have a width:height ratio of 1.5 to 1 or 1 to 1.5 - this is done to make the programming of the site easier! They are not professional photographs but are of reasonable technical quality and we hope that they will prove useful.
We are inviting those who have taken photographs at Wintershall to submit their photographs to this web site - see the Contribute to the Wintershall Photographs page. Eventually we would like to those who have used the photographs to share their experiences, and possibly their work, with visitors to the site.
Finally, if you think that this web site provides some useful resources please tell other people about it and if you can, create a link from your web site or Blog to this web site.
